Susan Perkins, PhD, LMFT, LPC
I earned my master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Hardin-Simmons University (2003) and my Ph.D. in Marriage and Family Therapy from Virginia Tech (2010).
I’m licensed in North Carolina, Idaho, and Michigan and can provide virtual therapy for clients in any of those states.
I taught students at the masters level for 12 years. I was on the faculty of Northwest Nazarene University (Idaho) from 2008 to 2016 where I led the Marriage, Couple, and Family Counseling track in the CACREP-accredited counseling program. In 2016, I moved to North Carolina and taught at Pfeiffer University, a COAMFTE-accredited masters program. I was also director of the university’s clinic in Morrisville, Pfeiffer Institute Reach. I left Pfeiffer University at the end of 2019 to refocus on practicing therapy.
I went on to practice family therapy at a residential treatment center for those recovering from eating disorders and continue to use that knowledge and experience in my private practice.
I now live in Apex, NC with my husband, our two daughters, our Goldendoodle, and our cat.
